A drag selection works wherever it starts, on bold text, a heading, inline HTML or in the margin beside the text; Format › Highlight and Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+H highlight text; editing an HTML table cell in place keeps a <ruby> reading in another cell intact.

Plugins can float a small view over your writing, first of all the Desk Pet: Moyu, Textus's mascot, or the LLM-chan of your model, in a corner of the window or on your desktop; an HTML table's words are edited where they're drawn; READMEs show as on GitHub, centred blocks and light and dark logos included; the title bar can be glass, as a macOS toolbar is.

Attach almost any file - code, zip archives, HEIC, AVIF and more; Textus AI keeps its work out of your folders; choose your documents' font and character spacing; the textus terminal command lists, reads, searches and creates notes without opening a window; the settings file can carry your AI conversations and memories.

Research mode writes reports, analyses, articles, threads and news briefs too, from your own files as well; Settings › Extensions › Create makes themes, plugins and skills with Textus AI in a chat of its own.

Research mode: Textus AI researches a topic and writes a cited paper into your document; very long documents open with far less memory; untitled documents are named and saved for you; Paper, Slate and Forest are back as built-in themes.

Set the document's text size and line spacing yourself in Settings › Editor & Appearance; nine new looks in the theme gallery, five with their own type and spacing; every plugin drawn with Textus's own controls, menus and colours.

[TOC], sub- and superscript (H~2~O, x^2^) and :emoji: shortcodes as in Typora; an eight-step tour; full frame rate on 120 Hz Macs; big folders and long documents stay quick with plugins on.

AI edits and review notes appear one by one as they are written, and land without a flash; Write now also revises; the Memory tab becomes Project. Rename and Move to Trash in the file tree, ⌘/Ctrl-click to open a file in a new window, documents reopen where you were reading, diagrams can be enlarged. Fixes arrow keys that changed a document, drag-selection scrolling on Linux, a second window after updating, pasted emails turning into one line, and more.

Textus AI searches the web with every provider, makes pictures, reads the PDFs and Word files in your folder and uses MCP tools; the editor opens whole folders, follows wikilinks and stays quick in very long documents.

• Pictures: Textus AI draws one for a paragraph, or for a piece it writes, with OpenAI, Gemini, Doubao, Qwen, Zhipu or a ChatGPT plan. Each waits for you to accept it.

Textus AI now works three ways and remembers what you ask of it, and on a Mac Textus installs from Homebrew's official cask: brew install --cask textus.

• Three Textus AI modes, picked beside the message box: Write drafts new text without touching yours, Review answers and leaves notes in the margin, Revise suggests changes sentence by sentence. Every change still waits for you to accept it.
• Memory: tell Textus AI something once and it keeps it, for this project or for all your work. The AI panel's Memory tab shows everything it remembers, to edit or delete.
• A new first-run tour, on reading notes about a classic in your language.
• /theme designs a theme from one sentence; Use this theme switches to it.
• Browse, install and update themes from the theme gallery inside the app.
• Autosave, in Settings › General.
• A choice of where pasted images are saved, or upload them through PicGo, PicList, SM.MS or Imgur.
• Obsidian image embeds such as ![[image.png]].
• Collapsible <details> blocks, HTML tables, simple inline styles and inline SVG show as they look.
• Equations numbered through the whole document, as in LaTeX.
